Dress SWC-403 Perfect for Flower Girls, Pageant Gowns, First Communion - Everything! We just received a shipment of these dresses today to fill existing orders and we all went absolutely nuts!

These dresses are drop-dead GORGEOUS.  We cannot say enough about how much they impressed us.  The photos don’t begin to do it justice!

They’re very special.  Unique.  Not run-of-the-mill by any means.

The fine netting lace (Schiffli) is one of the most beautiful types of lace in the world.  This dress not only has the lace - it is lightly beaded and sequined.

The lace drops below the ruched satin accent at the waistline to form a peplum effect over the full tulle skirt.

STUNNING!

The square neck is not often seen, either. It is modest, though it does dip a bit deeper in the back (but not way - way down).  The satin sash ties into a glorious bow in the back.

This is a dress of TEXTURES.  Lace - satin - and tulle with beading.  Frothy and rich in elegant details and yet not over-done.

It is a FABULOUS choice for many purposes - Flower Girl dresses, Miniature/Junior Bride dresses, Pageant Formal Wear dresses and yes, First Communion dresses!

Dress #SWC-403 is from the Justin Alexander Couture line.  It is definitely a very special dress for a very special young lady!

Flower Girl & Communion Dress #SW-523                Tiny Flower Girl Dress #SWB-i523T

#SW-523 for Girls’ Sizes 2-14  & #SWB-i523T for Infant/Toddler Sizes

This dress covers a LOT of subjects all in one because it can be the PERFECT dress for so many occasions!

Not only that — it now comes in infant/toddler sizes.  What does this mean?  Flower Girls - and Sister Dresses - for girls of all ages to coordinate perfectly!  The infant/toddler version - #SWB-i523T - is also very popular as a Christening dress.

The tulle skirt on this dress is not the fly weight illusion you see in many - it is the ‘real deal’ tulle with lettuce-edge skirt in several layers.  Pearls are scattered over the satin bodice and the waistline is accented - front and back - with hand-rolled satin rosebuds.

In addition to a terrific dress for Flower Girls and First Communion - it has received RAVE REVIEWS at pageant fashion shows we have produced!  Don’t forget . . . it comes in white, ivory and PINK.

If you love this dress for First Communion but need sleeves - jackets are available to add over top!

Dresses #SW-523 & SWB-i523T (the infant version) - a dress for all occasions!

Pageant dresses for little girlsWhen it comes to competing in pageants, a parents’ thoughts - especially Dad’s thoughts - frequently go towards adding up the costs.

There are the obvious, of course, such as the entry fees.  Entry fees can vary widely depending on the pageant system and level (preliminary, state, regional national).  Some may be as low as $50 or so for the compulsories only, while others begin at $250 or much, much more just for the basic entry.  And then, of course, are the optionals - each one is an additional cost.

Why add on optionals?  It’s a terrific opportunity to gain experience and develop poise, for one thing.  For another, well, you’re already there so why not do as much as you can do?  In addition, many systems count at least some points earned in optionals toward titles.

Then there are the outfits, of course!  The more events s/he competes in, the more you will need.  At the very least you’ll need a really lovely formal gown for girls and a dressy suit or tuxedo for boys - but that’s the beginning.  Separate outfits will be required for every event from swimsuit to casual wear to modeling to cheerleading (or any talent).  And many pageant systems will require that your child also have their uniform for in between competition times and/or for opening numbers and group photos.

Many systems also require the contestant to sell a minimum $ amount in ads and often (and especially when the contestant competes a lot or is new to the pageant scene) these ads are taken out by family members and friends.

Don’t forget the cost of lodging and meals.  If siblings are going along, there will be additional expenses there too.

And, of course, there will likely be items for sale by the pageant system as keepsakes of your experiences.  Who can resist a sparkling pin?

More than that - the cost of pictures.  If your child will be participating in “Most Photogenic”, you will be required to submit photos - and they need to be professional.  Many systems will require a great head shot with the application anyway for their program book; you’re going to want your child’s best face on display there!

But there’s a lot more to the photos.  Every pageant system has their official photographer who will be taking photographs of every child throughout every event.  Watching them can be amazing - and seeing how they keep every child’s photos together can boggle the mind!

These photographs belong to the pageant system but you will, of course, have the option of purchasing a package.  Most likely you’ll be required to make that commitment before your child’s event; you can’t purchase a package afterward only if s/he won.  These photos can be expensive, but are also terrific keepsakes and can also be potential shots to use for the next event.  Be sure to read, ask, and find out about these photos before it is too late to order - you’ll likely want them!   And there will be video, too . . . .

Now, back to the clothing budget.   You have many options.  Always keep the rules in mind - you want to be sure to meet requirements at all times.  Use creativity wherever possible!  You may be able to find that perfect casual or sportswear outfit at a bargain or thrift shop.  You might find the perfect glitz dress for sale by another contestant who has outgrown it - be sure to personalize by adding your own personal touches (or removing things, whatever works best for your personal look).

Keep in mind, too, that the perfect evening wear may be a matter of finding a lovely dress and then “making it your own”.  You can save a lot of $$ by doing some work yourself. We’ll be discussing this futher soon.

If you have money left at the end of the pageant - or - earnings, you might want to go ahead and pre-pay next year’s entry fees. It’s likely that they’ll be offering a substantial discount if you do it at this year’s event.  You’re going to want to come back if you had a great time this year!

But as they say in the ads for credit card companies, the ultimate experience is –

PRICELESS

Dress VN-V041 perfect for Flower Girls, First Communion & PageantsAs you know, we’ve been doing Spotlight on Dresses highlighting some of the best dresses.  We offer SO many dresses that it’s easy for some of the best to be overlooked.

Today we talk about dress #VN-V041.

This dress has been a favorite from the beginning (it will NEVER go out of style!).  The full, frothy multi-layered tulle skirt makes every girl feel like a Princess!  Sequins are scattered lightly on the skirt - on the 2nd layer under the top layer giving it a really nice effect but also helping to keep the sequins in place (since sequins and beading are so apt to come loose - this helps a lot).

But the focus is the bodice. This dress frames a girl’s face beautifully!  Made of fine bridal satin, the sleeveless bodice has added style panache with a very modest V shaped back neckline.

And more than that, the entire waistline and neckline - both front and back - are accented with a wide band of VERY delicate bead work.

This dress passes the TWIRL TEST in a very BIG way!  What is the “twirl test”?  When a girl loves a dress, she can’t help but start to twirl round and round in it!

If you’re looking for a VERY special dress, consider #VN-V041.   It is understated elegance personified.

Who would wear this dress?

  • Flower Girls.  It is available in white or ivory to coordinate most weddings.
  • First Communion - wherever a sleeveless dress is allowed.  If you are required to wear sleeves but love this dress - just add a jacket over it!  We offer several
  • Pageants - GORGEOUS!

This is also one of the dresses available with EXTRA LENGTH for the tall, slim girl -and- in plus sizes for our extra fluffy lasses.

Dress #VN-V041 has it all!

Wow! Featured Dress #VN-V907We’re starting a new series here - “Dress Spotlights”.  In this we’re going to feature dresses with huge impact.

With so many dresses available, it’s easy for really terrific styles to get lost in the pack, so to speak.  Certain ones are just amazing for various reasons, so we’re going to feature them in Dress Spotlights from on!

Our first featured dress is #VN-V907.

We’ve long loved this dress for oh, so many reasons.  Today we received one in size 12 in cranberry and OH MY!  It’s GORGEOUS!

That’s the thing.  We can only show one or two views of a dress.  But this one has so much going for it . . . .

It’s available in sizes 2-16, to start with.  What does this mean?  Well, for one, suitable for all ages so it’s perfect to  coordinate wide age differences for wedding parties.  A 4-year old and a 10-year old could look great together in this dress, for example.

That means it’s a great choice for SISTERS’ DRESSES, too!

It’s darling on little ones, as you see in the photo.  But don’t overlook the fact that it’s IDEAL for the pre-teen (Tween-ager) too!

The cranberry dress we packed and shipped today is STUNNING with that rich beading.  The A-line style is flattering on just about every figure type and is always in style.  There is detail in front (beading) and in back with the ruched draping.  And what’s more - it can be worn sleeveless without the jacket or with sleeves with the jacket.

As if that wasn’t enough reason to run and look at this dress, consider two other very important features:

  • It’s available in SO MANY COLORS - 36 right now!
  • It can be ordered with extra length for tall, slim girls too!

Who would wear this dress?  Flower Girls - Jr. Brides Maids - Pageant Contestants - just to name a few.

#VN-V907 is a lot of dress for a pretty reasonable price.  It certainly warrants checking out!
