What size will my child be wearing when s/he stands up in a wedding next Spring?

What size will my baby be wearing for his/her baptism in two months?

We receive variations of these questions almost every day and oh, how we wish we could answer them with any degree of certainty!

But the truth of the matter is that it would take supernatural power or insight to make these predictions - and we simply do not claim to have supernatural powers.

Children all grow at different rates in different ways at different times.  No two children are the same.  We cannot genuinely predict a size for them in the future based on their size today.  That would be dishonest, just to get your order.

The person(s) in the best position to make this estimated guess are those closest to the child, most likely the person asking us the question.

It is an educated guess at best.  Those who see and watch the child grow are the ones who know the most about that child.

Is there a ‘rule of thumb’?  Yes, absolutely.  It’s always best to err on the large side.  Any garment can be shortened or taken in, but most cannot be let out and none can be lengthened.

So if the child is to wear it in the future, it is always best to “order up” in size.

Even with baby dresses, baby suits and Christening gowns.  It really is VERY easy to move a button or two in the back to make it smaller.  In fact, we’ve had customers who have moved the buttons at the neck to make it bigger too — adding one of those tab collar extenders that men some times use under ties.

And suits and dresses can always be altered locally to be made smaller or shorter.

Ordering on line is a new phenomenon that is here to stay!  It is extremely convenient, to say the least.  But more than that . . . on-line retailers can often offer far more selection and you don’t have to drag door to door looking for it, either.

But we realize that there’s a fear in ordering on line - especially at first.  And, ordering for the most special occasions in life (like our customers do) adds even more concern.

Can you?  Does it work?

Absolutely!

But you need to realize something:    YOU are the person in control of the outcome.

What does that mean?

We absolutely guarantee that you will get exactly what you order.  Your order will be filled accurately with courtesy and well, yes - love.  We love what we do, our beautiful garments and that you have included us in your most precious moments in life!

What’s the SINGLE BIGGEST ISSUE ordering on line?

Fit.  Absolutely. But it does NOT have to be.

Why?  Because our size charts are absolutely accurate.  If you measure properly and use the size chart, you will get a very nice fit.  Simply put - YOU are completely in charge of getting the right fit.

FACT:  More than 90% of customers calling in to place an order admit when we ask them that they never measured the child or used the size chart.  This is absolutely shocking!

That means that they are calling and placing orders to have garments made specifically for them to their specifications without even taking a few moments to be sure they’re ordering the right size!

We guarantee that the garment you receive will fit the measurements on the size chart.  What we can’t do is guarantee to fit a person we cannot see or measure ourselves.  That’s just plain common sense.

We provide you with all the tools to make a fully informed choice.  If you use those tools - you’re going to be SO happy with the results!

So take the few extra moments to measure the person to wear that garment, use the size chart and select the correct size.

It will make ALL the difference!

Are dress & gown styles actually disappearing?

The answer is - YES.  But it’s because . . . .

  • Styles come and go. Stock items (especially Christening gowns, baby dresses and baby suits) are usually here for a time then sell out and are gone (except for a few very special styles we continuously have made and get in again and again).
  • Special order styles are discontinued as the manufacturer phases out some styles to bring in new.  Every manufacturer has their own ’season’ and method for this.  Some only discontinue a few dress designs while others change their entire line up!

For instance - a LARGE number of “SW” (Sweetie Pie) and “SWT” (Sweet Teen) dress and gown styles have recently been discontinued.  Why?  Their new fashion line up is soon to be unveiled!

This is always an exciting time - when new styles will be coming in.  It could take a few weeks or even a month or two, but this is an indication that new styles are on their way!

Until then, we have so much available that you’re sure to find something fabulous if you need to order it NOW.

Can we get a style for you that has sold out or been discontinued?  Unfortunately - no.  There’s nothing we can do at that point.  It’s gone.

The KEY is to order when you see it and know that you want it.  We cannot predict when something will be gone for good.   We update our websites (usually within a business day) as soon as we find out.
